Delivery Manager (Inside IR35)

Contract Term: 12 Months

Contracting Authority: UK Export Finance

Location: London Hybrid

UK Export Finance is the UK government s export credit agency. We support exports for any size company and across all industries, from capital goods to services and intangibles like intellectual property. Our mission is to advance prosperity by ensuring no viable UK export fails for lack of finance or insurance, doing that sustainably and at no net cost to the taxpayer.

 

As a Delivery manager your main responsibilities would be to: 

 

  • Work across 3 workstreams that sit under the Fintech programme - You will be expected to meet the DDaT Capability Framework Delivery Management skills (ddat-capability-framework.service.gov.uk).
  • Understand and have experience with the Service Standard and acting as the Delivery Manager for large programmes with multiple workstreams.
  • Ensure the smooth running of agile ceremonies while balancing the governance required for each workstream, removing blockers and aiding the delivery of the 3 workstreams.
  • The workstreams will be in private betas with some going into public in the next 12 months where possible.
  • Work closely with the Programme Management Team already in place, including a Programme Manager, Project Manager, Product Manager and Senior Responsible Officer (SRO).
  • Work with the Head of Digital Services to lead a team through the different phases of the delivery lifecycle (discovery, alpha, beta, live).
  • Work closely with stakeholders, users, technical, policy and operational experts to contribute towards, and deliver, the service vision.
  • Set the pace of delivery across services, managing dependencies to minimise disruptions, focusing the team on what is most important.
  • Ensure teams have the right working environment and the tools they need to deliver value based on what users need.
  • Actively participate in the agile delivery manager community learning, sharing knowledge and bringing in good practice.
  • Work to create a diverse, inclusive, supportive culture that stimulates innovation and enables high-performing teams to build and sustain high quality products and delivery.

 

You ll have relevant experience in:

  • SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.
  • Experience of working in agile and digital transformation, including leading agile ceremonies and road mapping.
  • Experience of Government Digital Service Standards assessments.
  • Experience using agile tools and techniques to deliver Digital services.
  • Agile and Lean practices.
  • Knowledge of the Government Digital Service Standard and Technology Code of Practice.
  • Excellent senior Stakeholder Management skills.
  • Communicating between the technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience of managing teams to deliver outcomes.
  • Experience of contract negotiation.
  • Experience of being a Scrum Master.

Desirable:

  • Active SC Clearance.
  • Running of service delivery operating models in Financial Institutions or Government.
  • Understanding of how common banking operations systems work (transaction capture, amendments, clearing and settlement, revaluation, client MI etc).
